Twisted Crown: Release of Version 1.00 rules

The day is finally here - the release of Version 1 of the rules. We can't thank our player-base enough for their excellent feedback; we hope you'll find these new rules fair and balanced.

A word on versioning. The document is timestamped at the bottom of the page so you can see the last time we "touched" the document. The version will be incremented every time Epitome issue a new rules errata page or make an addition, so you can be sure you always have the most up-to-date version of things. We will be incrementing the right-most digit for most minor changes (spelling, minor clarifications, etc.), the middle digit for major changes that affect most or all players (changing a spell level, adding a new skill, etc.) and the left-most digit for an entire new rules system (not for many years!)

We're looking forward to seeing you in game!

- The Epitome Board

March Events Cancelled

It is with deep regret that we are forced to cancel the March 11th-13th event. Because of a scheduling conflict, Camp Maria Pratt administration has asked us to relinquish our reservation, and in the interest of continued good-will between the camp and Epitome Games, we conceded. In addition, the August event dates will be changing - we will have the event change on the website as soon as we have confirmation.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We are attempting to obtain a table at Ubercon for March 11th-13th, and you are welcome to stop by and pay us a visit if you'd like - again, we will have details on the website as soon as they're hashed out. If you have questions, concerns, or complaints, please drop an e-mail to ombudsman@epitoemgames.com and we'll get right back to you.

Sincerely,
The Epitome Staff

We are pleased to announce the release of Version 0.99 of the Twisted Crown rules, downloadable from here in PDF format. Why aren't they version 1.0? We would like to add a few things to the Appendix, including a glossary, a weapon creation document, a quick reference, and an index, so we're not quite ready to commit yet! However, we feel that the rules themselves are finished and can be used immediately to fix or adjust your characters.

The following rules have been changed because of your excellent feedback. We hope that these will represent good compromises and keep everyone happy!

* An equipment guide has been added, with standard prices and new equipment (including Holy Symbols, Quivers of Arrows, and Boxes of Bullets)
* A combat section has been added, with answers to common questions
* Fellowships have been expanded and explained
* The issues with Rogue Remove Traps and Rogue: Unseal have been addressed
* The addition of rules about the Object Cannister
* Questions about Spell Books have been answered
* The addition of Holy Symbols to use Divine Powers
* The addition of Slings under Ranged
* The removal of the Backpack parameter of the game
* A revision of the direct damage Ice/Fire/Lightning spells. Acid has been dropped!

* Adjustments were made to the following skills/powers/spells/vocations:
- Skill: Pierce
- Skill: Disengage
- Skill: Paralyze
- Power: Replenish Magic
- Power: Death's Stamp
- Power: Aegis of Blesti
- Power: Mystic Grace
- Power: Sleep Tight
- Skill/Spell: Maim
- Spell: Repulse
- Spell: Destroy Item
- Spell: Destroy All
- Spell: Mana Transfer
- Spell: Dispel Magic
- Spell: Repel/Greater Repel
- Vocation: Gambling

As always, if you have any questions, please let us know!
